A New Normal

Hi y’all,

With everything going on I’m finding myself in a new normal again. Only this time my new normal is being shared with a lot of other people. I was at the grocery store when I was done working. I was with my mom. She was wearing a mask. A lot of people were wearing masks. Now instead of being able to go in any entrance, everyone has to go in one entrance.

Shopping carts are being wiped down. Hand sanitizers are stationed by the carts. Placards reminding people to stay 6 ft apart are placed on the floor all over the store. Announcements are being made on the loud speaker reminding everyone what to do to stay safe; practice social distancing, don’t touch your face, wash your hands, stay home if you’re sick.

The funny about this whole new normal is the timing of it showing up. I’ve been working on doing more and learning more, and imagining a better life. I’ve been really focused on it. In my work, I’m having the best conversations with people. I’m making new connections and doing new things. Things get better and better the more I focus on what I want.

I’m very grateful for my life now. I’m grateful for what I have. And I’m excited to keep growing. I like growing. And as I have been striving for something new and better, my new normal came in. Now I have new opportunities. Now I have a new purpose. Now I have new people I’m working with. Now I have a goal worth pursuing with everything I’ve got to give.

The world we live in now is an amazing place. With technology we can talk to people anywhere in the world. I can post something online and instantly it’s accessible to millions of people. I can do more with more people on my computer in my home office than I could ever do before. We are so blessed. In the midst of everything going on, we are still so blessed.

I hope you and your family are well. I hope that with this holiday week you are able to appreciate the good God has given you and will continue to give you. If you are reading this you are breathing, you are alive, and there is hope for a great future when you reach out to find hope and have faith and go after what you want.

Matthew 7:7–8 King James Version (KJV)

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

You have to think for a moment….What are you asking for? What are you seeking to find? Are you knocking on doors of opportunity? What are you expecting? You will get what you ask for, find what you are looking for, and go where you are showing up to be. It’s kind of like Google. What you put in the search bar determines your results.

Until next time…Build a dream you want to live in and hold onto it in your mind and hold onto it in your heart and plant it deep in your soul so it will take root and grow. It’s your life. Go for it!

Best,

Laura
