It was a lot of fun talking to David about internet marketing, what works, and how to get results. The truth is, if you’re marketing, you need to be looking at data. The data is going to tell you what is actually happening with people. Data is good. If you aren’t looking at data or don’t know much about it, learning this will make a huge difference in your results.

I can have an opinion but I’m not my customer. The most successful businesses know a lot about their customers. Successful businesses spend time looking at data and make decisions based on the numbers. Numbers tell the story. There may be details that can be filled in. But the over all trend of what is going on is in the numbers.

When it comes to internal operations, the numbers tell the story. Success leaves clues. Analyze the top performers productivity compared to the not so great performers and the numbers will give you the reasons behind the results. Another thing that is great about using this information is that you can really help people improve their performance when you know what their issues are.

The most important thing about building a business is to be doing something that you love to do. I’m not the first one to say this and I won’t be the last one either. When you are doing something you love, things just come together. Right now, I’m excited to be doing the thing I really love. That is my artwork. It’s been a long time since I pursued this dream and now I’m glad to be back at it.
